This is my 3rd visit. As a newbie to Baltimore I love that this restaurant is so close. Friday I got their Friday night dinner special which is a Caesar salad, steak and frites, and dessert. I also had a few cocktails( smash palace). Really good portion size. Steak could?ve used a bit more seasoning but the butter on top was great flavor. Fries with garlic aioli was amazing. I didn?t love the apple crisp but the ice... View all feedback.
What Michael Schuett doesn't like about The Tilted Row:
The service was good to begin with and then another service took over service. The disturbing thing was the service would have her hands on the dish and then ask if we were finished?? The food was ok nothing really special. The watermelon gazpacho had very little watermelon taste to it. I can also save the same thing for the Turkish cigar appetizer and they had a sauce with it. The main course my partner has the scal... View all feedback.
First of all, I was so enamored with the authentic we care about your experience. Every.one.of.staff.was.on.point. You know how you feel inside when all systems are clicking and the outside energy surpasses it. Dominique was aces helping me select my specialty drink. It is absolutely my favorite now, the Tilted Word. Odd/unique taste with a curious set of spirits and liquers to keep me interested. She was superb at defining the dishes and her manner was quite engaging, so it was fun. We were joined by a friend so we had plenty of excitement sampling. O what a glorious evening. I first thought I wanted the wine pairings with the courses, which idea I love, but decided not to mix so many alcohols. Next time. The duck confit was in my head all day and did not disappoint me. I must apologize, none of us took pictures, but the dishes are in the reviews and you get exactly what you see. I was almost drooling while watching three other duck confits being delivered to other patrons. At last, Eureka! I love love love! the charred tomato jam, to almost scraping my plate for the last drop! The attention to taste detail was evident with the plate and so enjoyable. Award winning Chef Amy Hessel came to our table and she chatted for a minute with us. We, though, gushed about the food. Cuz it was delightful! The halibut was ordered by someone who NEVER eats fish and she LOVED it. I have shared this experience with my foodie friends.
Nice neighborhood hangout. Acoustics are a little bit annoying. Not the place if you require a quiet dining experience. Excellent food and even better cocktails.
Overall great experience! Clean bathrooms. Super cute decor and ambiance. Menu was simple and delightful. Got the cinnamon roll, **** Mary, and mushroom omelette with breakfast potatoes. It was 10/10 for me. My son got the chicken and waffles. It was a great size/portion. He loved it and the honey butter to pair.Vegetarian options: Mushroom omelette, cinnamon roll, potatoes, grits.Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs for smaller children.
Our waitperson Dominque was 5+ stars. Extremely knowledgeable menu item's ingredients, to include the seasoning and spices used, and well versed in details of how it was prepared and provided examples of the seasoning by reference other foods.Provided great explanations of different dishes and paired them staters and dessert and cocktail.Provided eye to eye contact and was throughly engaged and attentive to our party but not overly attentive.Because of our wait person we will be returning to get Chef Amy's award winning dessert.Kid-friendliness: Reservation are required which is great if you have small or infant children. No waiting, our table was ready and available
Hands down the best meal I have had in countless years. Better than my experience in NYC at a Michelin Star joint. Chef Amy at Tilter Row has skills that are worth the trip to Bolton Hill no matter where you are in metro Baltimore. Damn fine food. Missing are pictures of were Aleppo shrimp crustini app and Baltimore Gumbo. Jenn had pan seared halibut with Amba sauce. There are no pictures because we dove in and ate every bite before thinking about taking a picture. Dessert was peach crisp. Perfect amount of sweet and cinnamon. Go soon!!!!
