I've been distorting a few times here and coming for drinks. the service and quality of food is always exceptional. I love that they have kept the history of the space and also put it modern accents. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Alexander Brown:
I would usually go to the list. beautiful building. Food options are standard and expensive. production is not surprising. I really liked our waitress, but for example, they hadn't provided anyone to make coffee drinks (espresso, cappuccino our waitress said they could be made technically, but they had to make them and they had no special training on it) and eating came quite slowly. I enjoyed the night as close to t... View all feedback.
Great place, nice atmosphere. Our server Rich was very friendly and we felt welcome. The food was delicious and cheap; There are places in Baltimore that are considered a-must where the food costs more and is half as good. I had breakfast / brunch with my gf; We had 2 cappuccinos, 2 cocktails and 3 entrees and we paid about $100 (not included). Amazing pancakes, carvings and burrito,
The architects and interior designers made an amazing job that transformed this 110-year-old mediation into a sophisticated, beautiful restaurant. It is worth the price of a cocktail, just to enjoy the atmosphere. The kitchen is also excellent. I thought the menu offered a nice selection of dishes. I've dined with friends twice. All right. The cocktails let me say they make an excellent old fashion. The restaurant is on the expensive side. You have parking!
I really wanted to fall in love with this place. The room is beautifully restored and great atmosphere, but this?s where it stops for us. I made a reservation to friends on the phone? Recommendation. The hostess asked if we would celebrate something and I mentioned it was our anniversary dinner. If you contact the address, NO VALET at the front of the building. For a place of this caliber I was shocked and disappointed. We had to drive around two blocks to find a parking garage. On foot in the restaurant and mentioned the lack of Valet the hostess and that seemed to be the manager at the front. No excuse, just one? There is no sign or mention outside when you make a reservation by the staff. Very uncomfortable. No mention of our celebration and nothing from the ordinary of the waiter and staff. The waiter was friendly, but shy and very quiet, even if we mentioned it was our first time. He didn't go over the menu just asked if we were ready to order. The whole experience with him was unpleasant. He wanted feedback on food during meal and wanted to discuss the nuances and flavors. I just wanted to enjoy our food and my husband's company. Food was fine, scallops were boiled, crabs beignets were oily, risotto was to taste sub par. The Mexican chocolate mousse cake was great. To our shock, the waiter put our left pocket on the floor next to me. I'm sure it was a first. Has not fulfilled the standard of the price they set. Will not come back or recommend this place.
Alexander Brown is located in an existing bank building in downtown Baltimore, which has been renovated and now seems to be half fine dining and half art gallery. The interior and the atmosphere is stunning and is supported by monochrome porcelain, excellent service. This alone is probably a good reason to eat here. The menu and the associated wine list were very good value. The food itself was pleasant, but there was something extra to make this restaurant one of the best fine restaurants in Baltimore. However, the display preparations for all dishes were particularly good.
My second visit to this restaurant was this evening for dinner with my first being lunch last week. Once you step inside this building you are overwhelmed with the beauty. There is simply no other restaurant in Baltimore that comes close to this. The service is absolutely impeccable. The wait staff caters to your every need. The food is fabulous, drinks are made to perfection and the artwork.... stunning. The prices are absolutely fair for the city and you will get what you paid for. The manager, Tad gave my son a tour and has extensive knowledge on the history of the Brown family and the building. Do yourself a favor, make a reservation here. Enjoy being catered to, eat wonderful food and take in what this beautiful building has to offer. You will not be disappointed. I promise.
