A family favorite. The communal hibachi grill with knives flipping and flaming surprises always thrills kids and adults alike. Prices are moderate, mostly between $25-$35. This place is very popular, especially after 5:00. Walk-ins are welcome. But if you have a party of 4 or more, reservations are highly recommended. In either case, be prepared for a wait. Food was ok, services was ok, what was disturbing was, with everything going with COVID 19, we were eating at the sushi section, saw maybe the manager or assistant manager? Not sure, he was asian wearing glasses standing on like the greeting table before entering the hibachi area. Not sure, he was asian wearing glasses standing on like the greeting table before entering the hibachi area. He picked up a toothpick from inside (the part that they refill from) jokes with someone he works with then decided to put it back in from where he got it from!!! When we saw that, we like are you serious?! But he didnt cared and continued joking around. If he can do that around this time, it made us question real how much they care about cleaning the restaurant and prepping the food.
Kobe is a good Japanese Steak House, lots of fun when you get a great chef. Ours was outstanding. My only complaints are fried rice is extra (I'd rather have rice than noodles), that the cost is getting pricey and that no matter how many people are at your table, the same amount of food is prepared. There were only 9 people at our table, so we had a couple of vacant seats and there was plenty of food for all and we had leftovers to bring home. Previous experiences when there are no vacancies at the table, there are no leftovers.
This place used to be the best hibachi in town. That is NOT the case anymore. The food quality alone is enough for me to not return. Undercooked rice, undercooked scallops, a total lack of the flavor that used to make my mouth water in anticipation. The chef had a total lack of awareness to anyone at his table. He would start distributing the food at the opposite side, seemingly forgetting that he needed enough for the people at the other side. A buddy and myself both had literally HALF portions to the people at the other end of the table and every time he seemed surprised by it. Total lack of awareness and effort on his part. This place has been going downhill for awhile now but after last nights experience I will never be back. It’s a shame really. Very disappointing.
