We got the lump crab cake platter. It was a decent size, really tasty, I can taste the sweetness from the crab meat. The side dish is ok, not too impressed. It?s overpriced though and it?s not worth that much for one piece of crab cake.
As promised stopped by on August 25. I ordered the lump crab cake platter (they 're 2 lump backfin) and 2 additional uncooked lumps to try at home. I asked for greens potato salad for my sides but later discovered they gave me coleslaw instead of greens even though it was marked on the bag (check your food before you leave). From all the review hype, I just knew I got it right this time. Nope, just another average overpriced crab cake. I 've come to the conclusion
Crab cake wasn't bad, wished there was more crab and texture was less mushy. Definitely some good flavors though. The cucumber salad was very sweet, prefer a bit better balance with vinegar. Coleslaw was good, a bit too saucy though. Whole platter was roughly $30, which is a tad price-y for the small portions.
This stand is part of the big food hall, and is located to the left of the entrance. The stall on the right is much busier but it served mostly fried seafood. The steam pot platter I got here had two crabs, 1/2 lb of Texas shrimp, and a dozen clams. I upgraded the two crabs to the extra large size which was definitely worth it. I also added a half dozen oysters. The oysters were very mild but big and meaty. This shop recycles the empty shells and put them back in the bay,
Faidleys in Lexington Market offers a range of seafood options, including their famous lump crab cake platter and other delicious dishes. Some customers found the crab cakes to be overpriced for the portion size, while others raved about the quality and flavor, calling it the best they've ever had. The atmosphere is laid-back, with standing tables for a quick meal. While parking can be a bit tricky, the overall consensus is that Faidleys is a must-visit spot for seafood lovers, offering fresh and flavorful dishes that are worth the trip.

We purposely made a trip to Lexington Market and because of the great mentions of this restaurant I had to try their crab cake. I paid market price $24.99 plus tax for the crab cake. We also tried the catfish sandwich. The crab cake is a decent size with lump crab meat and minimal filler but it lacked flavor. Not one seasoning was tasted but I got an overwhelming taste of mustard. The catfish was very bland as well. Edible because I’m not going to waste food. The restaurant itself is standing tables only. You can get other seafood items there. The staff were pleasant. Parking available on the street or the nearby garages.
Iconic crab cakes in Baltimore. Market price: mine was around $24-25. No seats, only standing tables. Given Faidley’s accolades, I expected it to taste much better, but it was bland with only a hint of mustard(? . The idea is to dress the crab minimally, to let the crab be the star of the show, but it failed to draw out the natural sweetness of the crab—perhaps a bit more salt. That said, the price is fair for this amount of jumbo lump crab meat with hardly any filler. It’s an honest business. I wouldn’t make a special trip out of it, but it’s worth trying if you’re in the area.
Amazing fresh oysters shucked in front of you. The size of my palm. Love Faidley’s!!
The best crab cakes in Baltimore. Excellent seafood selections. Shrimp salads, fried oysters, codfish cakes, and more. Still located in the old portion of Lexington Market, so be prepared for zero ambience.

I went there for an early lunch. I had the Maryland crab soup and the Award Winning Lump Crab Cake. The soup was good (3.5/5). The crab cake was really good (4.5/5).
Crab cakes are the real deal and the steamed shrimp are equally sporty. Great meal. Great piece of Americana too. The raw oysters are a must try.
Park Close and Eat Crab!. There is a parking garage right next to the Lexington Market...PARK THERE. (The area is kind of shady and you really don't want to walk further than you have to get to the market. Another thing to keep in mind. It's seafood...it's crab...it's on the pricier side. To save money, I recommend bringing your own drink and not buying a platter (it just comes with sides . <br/ <br/ The lump crab cake was exactly that. A lump of crab with little to no fillers. It was just a lump of tender, flaky crab goodness. The only thing I liked better was the soft shelled crab! It wasn't even in season but was beyond delicious. I loved it so much, I couldn't bring myself to eat it in a sandwich. Nope! Just pulled off that distracting bread and chowed down on pure seafood. If you still have room in your stomach, go to Berger's Bakery and get the Nut Roll!
Yummy. I was this place on TV and told my wife the next time we are in town we would have to stop here. Well, our 1st grandson was born so off to Baltimore we went! After we meet him we headed to Faidley's. These are the best crab cakes we ever had! Tons of lumped crab meat and huge! Great flavor! This will be a stop for us every time we are in town!

Delicious!!! Pretty pricey given the amount of food, but the crab lump was delicious. Fun vibes.Have to stand while you eat, but it's such an exciting place one hardly minds! But good to keep in mind for accessibility.
If you find yourself on business in this area… go to Faidleys! Pick out your own fresh seafood, they steam or fry for you. Highly recommend the red snapper (fried) with coleslaw, steam shrimp with all of the seasonings and add their famous crab cake to whatever you order. 10 out of 10.
Stopped for lunch on a busy Saturday, great atmosphere and even better food ! Hands down the BEST crabcake we have ever had ... oysters were super fresh too! A must go if you're in Baltimore. Parking a block away at the Lexinton Mkt garage was easy peasy!
I've been to the original market 3 years ago and the new market they opened at Lexington Market. Faidley's Seafood is in the original market and its still the best seafood stand in all of Baltimore. Not too far from the Edgar Allen Poe House and Museum. They Lump Crab Cakes are delicious.
Faidley seafood market is a blast from the past. You’re not gonna sit down and eat in comfort. You walk in and they want you to order right away. You get in line and you have to quickly decide what you want. I chose to walk around and look at everything and then come back to decide. My husband got one crabcake, coleslaw, and a beer. I got the crabcake platter, which came with one crabcake, and two sides. I chose the macaroni seafood salad, and the carrot salad it Was too much food for me. I enjoyed the crabcake and so did my husband, it wasn’t the best crabcake we’ve had but it was good. My husband had to wait a long time to get a beer, they need more staff. I didn’t mind standing while eating, but I could see how some people wouldn’t want to do that.
