PERFECTION!!! I’m used to going to spots in New Jersey, where I’m from. Since moving to Maryland, haven’t found anything close to the Dominican food I’m used to. After some thought, decided to stop by this restaurant and I AM SO HAPPY I DID!!! What Ann doesn't like about El Merengue:
A family treated us to dinner thru Grubhub. We ordered1. Chicharron de PolloFried. Marinated fried chicken served with rice and beans.2. Mojarra FritaFried tilapia. Served with fried plantains and green salad.Both orders came with rice and beans. The Chicharron de Pollo was not chicken but some other meat. The only tasty part of the meal was the rice and beans. Best Dominican breakfast around town. Delicious mangu, eggs cooked well, fried cheese was also delicious. Great price too. Store owner is incredibly sweet. Definitely coming back.
The food was delicious, specially the Mangu and the Pernil. They know how to cook. Five stars.
The BEST Dominican food in the city with the BEST service! The owner and her mom cook and make all the food fresh daily. Great prices. Lots on the menu! So authentic!
