Great for a quick lunch. Service was adequate. Waitress explained the menu. A little artsy. Location is within walking distance from the John Hopkins University. Seated quickly for lunch Meal can be ordered through a koisk on table and also can pay this way. Our waitress walked us through the process. We had a salad and a turkey burger. Both meals were average. Was told at nights, they have live performances. Nothing... View all feedback.
What Marques Schmitt doesn't like about Busboys And Poets, Baltimore:
I really wanted to like this restaurant. I have been there four times since they opened a location in Baltimore, and here is my conclusion: the service is a bit slow, not extremely slow but not the level of service one would expect from a restaurant. The prices are fair but the quality of the food doesn't seem to match the cost. During my most recent visit with a friend, we were constantly referred to as "you guys,"... View all feedback.
All good: customer service from the entire staff. manager visits the tables to make sure they are satisfied! bathroom are personal, nice clean! the ambientekunst in the entire restaurant warms up! oh, the eating was delicious presentation on top! poetry is available. I have to go back.
The atmosphere at Busboys was very nice, chic, fun, and sophisticated! The food was good. The menu has alot of options! The wait was not long at on a football Sunday. Service was wonderful and food came out in a timely manner. My only tiny gripe is that I asked for an additional meat to go with my eggs and didnt receive it. The server stated she would take it off the bill instead of offering to go and get the meat. Odd but not a big deal. I will definitely return to the establishment.
This place was objectively terrible, save your money.First off, the drinks are just sugar. There is literally no flavor outside of sweetness in all of the drinks. Which worries me, because I know they're using rail alcohols in their drinks. So to be able to mask those flavors means they use a lot of sugar or barely any alcohol. Either way for 10+ dollars a pop for cocktails, that's terrible.Secondly, the food was abysmal. No good, no flavor, just bland. I got a salad, and I made the simple request for an addition of mangos (which they had in another salad on their menu) and they couldn't do that. Fine, I mean kind of weird to not be able to adjust, but fine. But then when it came out, I literally had the stems of Romaine lettuce as my base and it tasted not fresh. The ONLY reason this wasn't a 1 star review is because the nachos were great. Other than that, this place was 2 thumbs DOWN.
I frequent the location in Hyattsville, MD. Have always enjoyed the food and beverage selection. The staff has always been accommodating and professional. And I love reading, so I do enjoy perusing the books for sale.
I read some of the negative reviews and came anyway and I realize all establishments are gonna have a few bad days... I enjoyed myself the place was clean neat and very professional. The food was hot and good. My only complaint is that there was no poet aspect.. no books...no ambiance of the original busboys and poets that use to have actual poetry and book readings.. singers and all... they need to bring that aspect back. The hostess I thing her name was Nae...she was very helpful and did a great job. Oh one more thing I was shocked at how good the banana bread with coconut ice cream was... amazing
