I have been going to Louey Soong for as long as I can remember and I have to say it is the best Chinese food I have had, their menu is only small but what they have they do very well, the staff are always friendly and price is good value. Highly recommended. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Louey Soong Chinese Take Away:
Have been buying the fabulous take away spring rolls and dim sims for many years now. The last time, however, was real let down and not what we had come to expect. Don't know what went wrong but food seemed overcooked, perhaps in stale oil and tasted terrible.I do hope this was a one off, but I expect it wasn't.I can put up with the indifferent, cooly efficient attitude of the lady taking orders, but not when the foo... You won't find better spring rolls anywhere else! The fried rice is amazing and the complimentary extras are a nice touch.
I have been living in Ballarat for many years, and tonight we noticed the long line outside this restaurant and thought it must be good if all the locals are lining up. However, we were very disappointed. The soup was bland, the fried rice was dry, and although my husband enjoyed the spring roll, I found the inside too mushy to eat. The small ordering area was dirty and felt more like a backyard shop than a takeout place. They also only accepted cash. I will not be returning, and would recommend going elsewhere. Even KFC would be a better option.
Looey Soong would have to have the best Chinese anywhere. The homemade dimsims are the best. Smaller menu than some other Chinese takeaways, but the quality taste of the food is spot on. The best Chinese by far.
Excellent food and service for a great price! The spring rolls and dim sims are our favourites!! Fried rice 5 stars!
Well decided to give this place a second chance . First visit was quite disappointing Due to the limited choice on the menu No mains and I was puzzled.by this Then after a second visit I realised why This small place has a long history of fine food in Ballarat going back 30 or 40 years Locals love it The choices are limited but their specialty is done very well Following a tried and true recipes The fried rice dishes are pretty high quality and delicious Traditional dimsims are a bit to rich for me but high quality fresh ingredients and very large Soups are delicous too and packed with yummy chicken All specialties are very very generous So don't over order Spring rolls are their own special recipe Simply huge Yes prices are a bit high But worth it My main gripe with this place is the female owner as in the initial order taking process , she was unfriendly and almost rude However since returning her attitude has softened Her food is so generous and good I couldn't possibly not go back and try again A smile goes a long way Will be a life long customer Highly recommend
