We used Aussie Oggie to cater our small backyard wedding and I cannot speak highly enough of the food! Keiran created a selection of delicious pies, sausage rolls, empanadas (my personal favourite! and mini bagels. We had heaps of complements from our guests about how good the food was. Customer service was also fabulous, so easy and stress free. We will definitely be using Aussie Oggie for any other catering needs!
Always fresh, always good. I enjoy it when I get the chance to drop by to buy a pack of bagels.
Fabulous local artisan foods. Authentic food and friendly service.
Such great food, would definitely recommend! The chef is incredible!
We purchased a traditional family sized pastie which cost approximately $24. For that price we were expecting it to be a tasty, easy dinner. The pastie was vaccuum sealed and in a refrigerator at thd front of the store. The staff member who served me asked if I 'd had one before. When I said we hadn 't he advised me to place it on a tray in a150 degree oven for 40 minutes. I checked that was ok for fan forced oven and he said that it was.I have many years experince cooking a wide variety of foods for my family and friends. Heating up a pastie is not difficult for me.Occassionally my husband will suggest having a meal out or buying something like the pastie or takeaway, to give me a break from cooking. He enjoys a good pastie so when he saw an add for this one a little while ago he was really keen to try one.I think it 's worth saying my husband doesn 't like to waste money or food and over the nearly 30 years we 've been together I honestly can 't recall him ever not eating something I 've cooked or we 've bought, even if he didn 't particularly like it.Last night I heated the pastie, as instructed. When I removed it from the oven I found that although it appeared to be cooked, the pastry on the base of the pastie was very soft and soggy.I cut a portion for my husband the filling simply fell out of the cut end and when I tasted a piece of the meat I was turned off by the overwhelming amount of pepper, so I decided to make myself something simple for dinner. My husband had been looking forward to his pastie so said he was willing to try it.He ate the portion I gave him but when I asked what he thought he said the filling appeared to be pretty much a few largish pieces of sliced lamb or beef, far too much large pieces of roughly chopped onion, and what he thinks was potato. He said when he cut into the pastie the filling all just fell apart when he tried to pick it up with his fork. He also found it to be greasy for some reason.I asked him if he wanted to eat any more of the pastie at another time (More than half of the family pastie was left). He said he didn 't want any more of it.Given the onion and pepper in the filling, we had no option but to throw it in the bin as we couldn 't feed it to our dog.My review is based purely on our personal experience this week and we realise and respect not everyone will agree. The only positive feedback I can give is that the gentleman who served me was pleasant.
