After some friends and I had a terrible experience with another local Indian restaurant taking our money but not delivering our food, I rung Masala Valley reasonably close to closing time & explained the situation. The lady was not only LOVELY, but threw in a complimentary condiment AND had our order delivered to us within the hour! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic! What User doesn't like about Masala Valley Indian Restaurant:
The restaurant was deserted, there were no drinks listed on the menu, and it took a long time for someone to inform us about the wine options. The decor needs to be updated to better match the cuisine; pictures of Italy and France are out of place, as is the choice of music. The butter chicken was subpar, as a low-quality cut of chicken was utilized and all that could be tasted was cream, lacking in flavor. Overall,... View all feedback.
Good hospitality and decently priced , but food and ambience is average. Biriyani was disappointing , tandoori chicken and tikka masala were just about okay. Haven’t tried a whole lot of other items in the menu , so maybe our choices weren’t right. Personally, will not recommend for authentic Indian dinner
Meh. Very average with little to remember. Ordered chicken korma, kashmiri naan, lemon rice, samosas and papadums. Samosas were cakey, lemon rice uninspired, kashmiri naan low on nuts and fruit, and korma lacked any vegetables at all. Expected better given prior reviews
We picked up few curries for takeaway from here. We had a few vegetarian in our group, but this place lacked in vegetarian curry options. Although when asked they offered to prepare something on the spot. The portion size was good and prices average. The taste of the food itself was average as well and they used a lot of oil which could had been less. Overall it is ok to try.
From the moment walked, the six of us were warmly welcomed by the owner, and made to feel right at home. we were seated by the fire as it was a cold night out. The menus were promptly presented and the bar explained to us. We were given ample time to peruse the extensive menu and then place our orders. We have eaten Indian cuisine all over Australia and in South East Asia and this was one of the much better meals that we have had. It was extremely tasty and more than enough for us all. Two of us are hearty eaters and we walked out very contended. The food is genuine and extremely tasty. We have read a few reviews of this restaurant where it was castigated and we could not fault the food or service and the prices. Give it a go and enjoy a great Indian meal.
The exterior of the restaurant is a bit non-descript, but the food is some of the best I have ever tasted in Australia. The chicken Tikka was unique. I also liked the Handi, which is a cooking style you don't find in too many Indian restaurants. The service was attentive, but not overwhelming. I will be back.
