Peggydale - Balclutha
Peggydale
Description
A roadside café and gift emporium serving travelers and locals with ample parking, a honey and souvenir shop, and seating for groups. Diners praise clean facilities, gluten‑free options and hearty lunches, while others note inconsistent food quality, hurried service and high prices — even charges for hot water — reflecting uneven hospitality. Best used as a convenient bus-stop or tourist pit‑stop rather than a destination restaurant.

Great cafe well resources for big groups or a casual loner wanted a travel stop.Good facilities and worth a stop. They have honey shop as well as gifts. They make a mean lunch, great value. Highly recommended.
Let me sleep in their couch sheet the bus driver left me there without looking to see if I was asleep on the couch Infront of the door up say me but they woke me after and let me sleep a little bit more
No more in operation. Last time I visited, it was on garage sales. Every thing must go including the display racks. Was a good gift shop.
I live in Balclutha and recently friends came to visit from Dunedin. I know lets do the tourist thing and go to Peggydale for lunch. Well what a fabulous surprise, plenty of parking, lovely and clean, friendly staff and better still we all loved the food too. So thanks to you all I will be back. 10/10 and a
