I have visited this restaurant multiple times and I have never had a bad meal here! They serve some of the best breakfast in Muskoka, as well as delicious pizza. I recently tried their cheeseburger and fries and, once again, I was not disappointed. Kim and the staff are always friendly and provide excellent service. I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem in Muskoka!

During the Bala Cranberry Festival, we decided to try out the new location of Hook and Ladder. The restaurant was absolutely charming, clean, and well-lit. The staff were friendly and adhering to Covid regulations. We tried the fish and chips, and the batter was perfectly light and tasty. The decor included fire trucks, which added to the ambiance. My husband did mention that he wished they offered draft or local beer, but overall, we definitely plan on returning to this lovely spot in Bala.

The food and service were excellent. The restaurant had all necessary Covid protocols in place. We ordered a scrambled egg wrap and a toasted fried egg sandwich, and both were filled with delicious toppings. The homemade home fries were fresh and excellent. The decor is themed around fire halls and is well executed. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are friendly. We will definitely be returning.

They always have the best toasted western sandwiches. Sometimes I just get them to go. Great breakfasts place and warm and toasty on a cold day too

A quick lunch break while working down the road, with my year old. His, bacon- cheeseburger, fries gravy and pop. Me, club sandwich, fries and gravy, pop. including tip. Kid didn’t finish his freaking miracle..he cannot be filled complained later there was a...black slime that ‘tasted like the grill was gross dirty’. Club was served on a flatbread thing, and fell apart before I could even pick it up. Service was annoying, over attentive, invasive. This is not some fancy joint with tablecloths and candles....it’s a small town roadhouse joint. How dare you charge this kind of money for mediocre, at best, food! Never again, and already telling others. We are locals, btw, and had not been in here for a while....appears to be all new staff since last visit which was quite passable breakfast...can’t really destroy breaky Huge embarrassment for this nice little town.
