Description

In the heart of central Indiana, this restaurant has a mixed reputation, blending nostalgic charm with recent disappointments. While some patrons fondly recall its comforting home cooking, like tenderloins and homemade pies, recent visits highlight a decline in quality, with reports of subpar food and service. Diners have experienced old ingredients, overpriced lunches, and neglected customer care, dampening the once-beloved atmosphere. Yet, there are pockets of praise for specific items, friendly staff, and a welcoming ambiance. Ultimately, this venue finds itself at a crossroads, as it struggles to reconcile cherished memories with an evolving dining experience.

A mainstay restaurant in central indiana for years, that I took my girlfriend (now my wife) to for wonderful home cooking, great tenderloins, fried chicken, home made pies, milkshakes, and great soups, for reasonable midwestern prices. We will never return to this awful excuse for a restaurant. Sadly, the food is barely edible. Cole slaw that is very old, pies with store bought crusts, fried chicken made of the inedible pieces of chicken, and a chocolate milk shake that I just tossed in the trash it was so bad. It saddens me that it was such an awful experience. We had such good memories of this place and drove out of our way to dine here again. Huge mistake.

What a wonderful hidden gem! We sampled the Cheeseburger, Double Bacon Cheeseburger, Chicken Strips, Grilled Chicken Wrap, a Chilli Cheese Dog, and finished off with a brownie for dessert. Everything was excellent, and our waitress was incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

I strongly recommend the breakfast at this delightful little diner in town. The staff is amazing, and the food quality is always excellent. It has become a frequent stop for me whenever I travel for work.

I absolutely love the biscuits and gravy; they can't be beaten!

Found ourselves in the lovely city of Greensburg on our way to Nashville, IN and stopped to see the historic tower tree. Decided to grab lunch at this restaurant, which looked quaint from the outside, and had possibly the worst lunch I've ever had there. I ordered a roast beef sandwich, which I was expecting to be served on toast with lettuce at least, what I got was a couple of thin slices of old, cold roast beef between two slices of untoasted soggy white bread. It wasn't even cut in half. My husband had chosen better, with a grilled ham and cheese, but for the seven bucks they charged for each sandwich, they must have made a healthy profit of about 6.50, there was barely any meat on his sandwich either. Will never go back.
