Was Anonym at Rocamar a mag?
in time he didn't eat such a mariscada. not only quantity but magnificent quality. It was a meal for an event and that gives it more merit, as all the attendees expressed the same opinion. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Rocamar:
well, good place and good quality, but expensive for quantity. It is worth the sight and service, although for example the seafood pamphlet seems excessive to me the price for how simple it was. in general, but of high price. the bogavante with rice well, at its point but like the rest, pays the name of the local and the product. When looking for a special place to celebrate my 50th birthday while on vacation in Baiona, I was nervous that this restaurant was too far out of town. We had a car, but we could have easily walked on a nice evening. It was worth the risk. The staff was very responsive when I emailed to make a reservation. When we arrived, I was blown away by the view from our table. It was a stunning vista of the Atlantic Ocean and the sun went down just as I was turning 50 and blowing out my candles. My companions thought their fish dishes were some of the best they ever had. Go and enjoy a special night!
Easily among the best restaurants for fish lovers. Fresh products cooked.in a masterly way. Visited on a Saturday for lunch with family. Restaurant with a fantastic view on the sea. We had a shell food mix for two (cold and hot) and we added a sliced lobster. Very rich and varied: percebes, crab, shrimp, lobster, scallops. All exceptional. We tried the caldo gallego as well excellent. The homemade cake is recommended. They offered a lemon sorbet. Everything was just excellent and the portions were very generous. The waiters were very kind and helpful. The service was quick and accurate. The price is not cheap but absolutely honest as the quality of the food is extraordinary. Reservation is recommended. ps there are meat option as well.
Rocamar is a classic of always, offering regional cuisine with the freshest and top quality seafood and fish dishes. They have the best and largest Cigalas a la plancha in this area. Fabulous location right on the ocean, and plenty of free parking. Pricing on the high end but good value for money. Special place to invite guests. José Campo, CHA
My wife and I were visiting Baiona for my 62nd birthday. We were staying at a nearby hotel and spa and we were recommended this restaurant as a fine dining seafood restaurant. The night that we went there also happened to be a wedding going on, which was very loud and really took over all of the ambience. Unfortunately, that wasn’t really the problem with the restaurant. All of the food we experienced was pre-prepared, meaning it wasn’t really something that was prepared for us to eat, but it had already been prepared and sitting. The service was pretty minimalistic, and the restaurant just felt old and a bit rundown and it felt like we were being ushered through the restaurant fairly quickly. I had a lobster and was given a choice between a blue or a red lobster and the blue lobster was still alive and would’ve had to have been cooked and the red lobster had been pre-prepared but I was not told that the pre-prepared red lobster would be served cold, which to be honest, I would never want anyone to have to experience for a lobster. My wife had a simple fish dish, and I had a side of broccoli and the lobster. Everything was cold and felt like it had been sitting for a long time, and did not feel like it was well prepared, in fact, the food came so quickly after we ordered it, that we were pretty surprised because it just felt like the food had been sitting there and then was delivered to us. Nothing was really warm and nothing felt really fresh. I think when offering someone $100 lobster that the distinction should be clearly communicated that the food will be served cold. I am not a big fan of cold seafood, no matter what. In fact, I am pretty certain that the lobster had already been cleaned and prepared and stored in a Tupperware before it was placed on my table. The service was also not really very welcoming and as it was my 62nd birthday, I felt like some effort should’ve been made to connect with us, but in the end run it was a quick service, a very expensive bill and not very good food or experience. I do not recommend this restaurant and I know that my wife and I will not be coming back. I can say that there is a wonderful hotel with a restaurant down the road and the restaurant is called el faro and the service and the food is quite excellent. Much much better. Again, I do not recommend this restaurant and we will not be going back.
The restaurant has stunning closeup relationship with the sea crashing on the rocks. A large mirror means those sitting obliquely still have a big view. Highly efficient and genuinely friendly service that never felt rushed. Thankyou for a wonderful afternoon.Highly recommended.
