What Jenifer Kuhle doesn't like about Amelia Wynn Winery Bistro:
Amelia Wynn is a favorite of ours, and the food is amazing. I am docking it stars because since the Vitner owners sold the Bistro, while the new owners do still feature Amelia Wynn wine, the price per bottle has doubled. Our favorite bottle was $38 when the wine makers owned it, new owners have set the price at $70. We buy bottles directly from the winery now instead of picking up bottles at the Bistro. Excellent food. Great wine. And a lovely patio. Highly recommend.
Recently celebrated a family birthday here and had a lovely meal. Table service was smooth and well-paced during our visit, and the food was excellent. This place has a very pleasant ambiance. And the wines are some of the finest on Bainbridge Island. Definitely heading back for lunch sometime soon.
Amelia Wynn Bistro has found the secret combination of seductive, astonishing food, warm, happy ambiance and caring staff. After walking around the Night Market, we decided that we wanted an a dessert. We were able to be seated at the wine bar (my favorite). The dessert menu listed several tempting choices; Eric decided on the Bread pudding with caramel sauce and house made vanilla ice cream and I chose the Olive Oil, Cardamom Ice Cream with spiced, toasted almonds and a sprinkle of sea salt flakes. The bread pudding was light and soufflé -like interior with just enough crunch; the liquid gold caramel sauce was warm and added just the right amount of sweetness ; and the vanilla ice cream was perfect. The presentation was gorgeous and was truely enough for sharing. But? the most incredible ice cream I?ve ever had was the olive oil, cardamom? an explosion of unctuous creamy goodness, with a backbone of grassy, fruity, herbal olive oil. Then the crunch of the ground nuts and just a hint of sea salt. It was so perfect, I never wanted it to end. My appreciation to Chef G and back of house for their attention to consistently interpreting the foods of the Mediterranean; Erika and the front of house for making it all happen with grace; and especially to Paul and Wendy, whose vision and artistic talents (both on canvas and in kitchen and winery) have brought this amazing Bistro to us on Bainbridge. ????
I was recently here looking for dessert. Upon arriving my friend and I could tell that we were not really wanted. Service was slow, especially for only ordering desserts and appearing to be over staffed. The desserts we ordered were the chocolate ganache torte and lemon olive cake. They were unfortunately underwhelming and both a bite dry. The ice cream and sorbet we delicious but not enough to save the desserts. Regardless, if you aren?t a WASP, don?t go.
