Dined as a couple, price was on par for what you would pay for the quality and variety of food you would obtain in a more urban centre. Entree was on point the goat was a little too salty but edible. Otherwise our mains and dessert was excellent. Would recommend if in the area. Service was excellent. View all feedback.
What Rowena Green doesn't like about Les Labours:
Even though we stayed at Le Germain Charlevoix, the fare at Les Labours was fair and the food truly pleased us! I highly recommend trying everything on the *very limited* menu, the Coquelette was particularly delicious and unique! I can't help but feel that the restaurant is not being fully utilized and room service was a bit difficult to obtain, but the food definitely made up for it. I was also disappointed that th... Hotel & both restaurants are stylish and well designed. Menu had changed and was disappointing compared to our first time. Rib steak and osso bucco had way too much salt. The spiced poached pear was a disaster. What a disappointment. The Pudding chomeur was good (their signature desert). The service was fast, but waitress was loud and indiscreet. I would go back as it s the only nice hotel in town and prices are very reasonable. (50$ for Table d'hote e.g. 3 services)
We had an amazing time at Les Labours! They offer a seasonal menu and a wide array of beers, cocktails and wines. They favor local produce and have offerings for all tastes! The trout appetizer as well as the foir gras were fantastic! The chicken was impressive (which let's face it rarely happens!) and the duck selicious as well! All the plates were nicely presented, the sides were well thought-out and the flavors amazing! We highly recommend the pudding chômeur which is a Quebec tradition and Les Labours makes a delicious one that clearly honor said tradition! Our waitsr was nice, fun and knowledgeable. Unfortunatly he was a bit overloaded with customers (9 tables for himself) which made the service a bit slower (was still okay) and not on par with the level of service I would expect from a high end restaurant. Don't get me wrong we did get excellent service but it's the little touches that were missing (water refills, removing the cocktail glasses, etc.)We had a wonderful time and will be back!
Best meal I've ever had..period. I travel a lot and have rolled my eyes backwards often..but this was an " every bite " OMG moment. If you can and its on the menu have the pork shank. Leftovers are even better the next day
We came to eat as a family of four and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. I had the squid ink risotto and short ribs. Both were delicious. Service was very friendly and we really enjoyed the meal. Would definitely eat here again.
Usually hotels don't have a gourmet restaurant, but this is one of the exceptions. The decor is modern and the restaurant has an open kitchen right in the middle of the dining area. It is located on the second floor, and has lots of windows with great views. The menu is not too extensive, but everything is prepared with a gourmet touch. They also have a nice wine selection available with a knowledgeable sommelier. We tried the halibut and the cream of parsnip, and they both were outstanding.
