Some of us had experienced it in the past, when the fondue arrived at the table with a generous pile of truffle in the center and it was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, our experience last night was very different. The truffle fondue arrived lukewarm and extremely thick. We asked for it to be reheated and softened, which the staff kindly did. However, when we tried it again, there was barely any truffle flavor. There were small pieces of truffle visible, but no aroma or real taste. We mentioned it again and were told that the usual quantity of truffle had been added and that the chef had even added a bit more. Unfortunately, the flavor did not improve. Perhaps the quality or freshness of the truffle was the issue. Overall, it was disappointing given the price, which is certainly at Verbier level. We had much higher expectations based on our previous experience.
