Good environment. had a bath as well. but less water even this is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. cool and fresh water there. absolutely enjoyable.
Highest waterfall in SriLanka. The access road is very narrow and dilapidated. Very dangerous to go in that road in a bus or large van. Can manage with a small car but can get hit on a lower chassis a bit. Ok for motorcycles and off road vehicles. It's an amazing site. Entry ticket is Rs 50 for local adults and Rs 350 foreigners. Small hike up to the falls. Alot of trash and litter along the way despite bins located along the path. Please do not trash the place. There are few wash rooms on the way and near the falls. Local shops selling tea and pol roti found near the parking lot.
• Actually a must see, Bambarakanda falls is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka and also it ranks as the 461st highest waterfall in the world. •Bambarakanda Falls is located in Kalupahana in the Badulla District. •You should buy a ticket before going in and then follow up along the road through beautiful pine trees to the view point. Fun Facts Most of the people just go to the view point and maybe go to Lanka Ella and return, but if you are planning on camping the best place is Upper Bambarakanda Falls small camp site which is the peak of the bambarakanda falls with a amazing view, but to reach their you should go up through the pine trees before the road to Lanka Ella its a little hard to find You can see the camping site in the photos, most people camp in වැලි වංගුව but nothing much is their,
This is the highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and have to travel few kilo meters from the main road. Along the road we can see fascinating scenes of the nature. Access road is easy and would be able to access the bottom of the waterfall.
The waterfall is really beautiful. The only downside is that the road is really narrow to reach there by vehicle. Two vehicles can barely pass. We had a huge rain fall while coming down and it was a nightmare to drive downhill. Leeches are there also in wet conditions. There is a small ticket counter where you can buy ticket to enter the small trail to waterfall. Around 10mins walk through pine trees from ticket counter to the waterfall. Worth the effort to go there and relax. Not recommended to visit on a rainy day.
