By chance we came to this restaurant in the Advent season 2015 and annoyed us a little that we did not already discover it. Yes, there is not so much light in the modernly decorated cellar vault, but there was a very tasty food (Gänsekeule with Thüringer Klößen, Schweinbraten), served by the top service friendly, attentive and fast. We weren't really excited. A bit stressed out the food was not great and since it was Christmas we would have liked to have eaten an ice cup at the end. Missing. But the ambience is beautiful. View all feedback.
1.2 Kg Tomahawk Steak from Duroc pig and grilled with 800°! It is now known that you can eat very good steaks in the rat cellar. What we have experienced this evening is incredible. We were eight people and everyone wanted to eat a good piece of meat. We received from the service the indication that fresh Duroc Kotelett and Tomahawk Steks are offered from their own house slaughter. We were also told that the weight was between 800 and 1400 grams. Big surprise in the round, but we wanted to try it. There were two brave men who ordered it. All the others ordered 300 g Rumpsteak from the Allgäu Jungbullen. Now the food came. The Tomahawk Steak was dressed with scrub noodles and apple cellar vegetables. The Tomahawk Steak was incredible, in taste, very delicate and the fat tasted slightly nutty and melted in the mouth. Our friends were also enthusiastic about the Rumpsteak. By grilling with the 800° grill, the meat gets a beautiful crust. Also the price performance ratio fits completely. 22,00 € for such a giant steak and 26,00 € for the bump steak with supplement is completely fine. Who wants to eat a really good piece of meat, what with 800° Grade grilled is very good here in the rat cellar. We're coming back!
Once again guest at the Ratskeller . For the spatiality, a restaurant can look in the basement. Pleasant atmosphere also caused by the spatial possibilities. They are therefore optimally exploited. Very friendly staff.I chose the offer Gänsebrust with honey skin. Very good, it is not enough. It was just amazing what came out of the kitchen. I haven't eaten such a tasty for a long time. The portions are generous. The menu offers regional cuisine at moderate prices. As well as a selection of regional wine varieties. And as already said, we were not disappointed even in a repeated visit here. You can also settle outside for warmer days. A recommendation in Bad Sulza !
