We had an overnighter in Babinda from Cairns and our accommodation hosts recommended the Boulders Tavern for dinner. We were so glad we took their advice! Cheap drinks, super friendly staff and the most amazing garlic butter bugs to top it all off. The cheesey herb bread was an excellent starter also. All very reasonable prices and definitely a meal to remember.

Welcoming staff, lots of friendly locals, a relaxed atmosphere. A short comprehensive standard menu, a separate specials menu. The delightful surprise comes with the quality and quantity of the meals. The food was delicious, especially the large serve of Morton Bay bugs, and the exceptional chilli prawns and basil linguine. It was a shame not to be staying longer to go through the menu every night. The range of beer included the tasty 4 Pines pale ale and the robust Kilkenny, both at $6.50 a pint! The Boulders Tavern is the type of gem travel writers love to discover, and which are becoming exceedingly rare. Looking forward to visiting again.
