We stopped in at Babinda Bakery while on holidays. We'd have to say the pepper beef pies were the best we've ever tried, and we've tried a lot. The service from the lovely woman who owns the Bakery was very welcoming, warm and friendly. View all feedback.
What Brennon McGlynn doesn't like about Babinda Independent Bakery:
Stopped past last Monday at lunch time, and it was not open despite saying it was on google and the front doors of their business. Several cars pulled up when we were there and they were just as disappointed as we were. No sign on the door mentioning why they were closed. View all feedback.
Best French vanilla slice I've had in a long time. Rolls cookie good too. Great place to pick-up picnic lunch for boulders
As an American in Oz, Babinda bakery is irresistible-Anzac cookies? Sausage rolls? Vanilla slice? Lamingtons? Cream buns with jam? Let’s have one of each! And so cheap! Anyway, worth a stop on the way from Cairns to Townsville plus you have to drive up to see the Boulders and you might as well bring lunch. We had a very nice premade roast beef sandwich as well. Highly recommend.

The best pie, pastry and coffee I've had at a bakery in years (or ever). Friendly staff. Flaky pastry for both meat and mushroom pie and Apple rhubarb turnover and the regular cappucino which was large was already double shot.
Best pie ever! Really nice staff. We ate our pie and went back to get another to take home for dinner.
