We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The pub was charming and the food we had on Saturday night was exceptional. The accommodations above the pub are also worth mentioning - guests can relax and enjoy drinks or food, and even bring it back up to their rooms if they have children. View all feedback.
What Carol Cardy doesn't like about The White Hart Inn:
First time down to the pub since new management unfortunately first impression was very untidy scruffy outside area, dirty glasses in the stream garden over grown with tall weed so you couldn't even see the stream! There was also a pint glass in the water, full ashtrays generally looked unkempt they were not busy as my husband i were the only two, on entering the pub there was plaster been knocked off the wall left o... This is the best pub ever, run by the kindest people. We were a group of cold, wet, hungry cyclists. We had contacted Julie at The White Hart in advance of our ride and she had agreed to open up the pub specially for us, prepared the most amazing and thoughtful buffet, and was the most fantastic host. We were overwhelmed by the thought that had gone into it, the quality of the food and the homeliness of the pub. We couldn't recommend The White Hart more.
Loved it Great staff and food We stayed above the pub, we will be back because we loved it so much x
Lovely warm cozy pub. We just stopped for coffee, the coffee wasn't great but not bad. Staff were friendly and helpful. Toilets were clean.
After staying nearby, we decided to dine out for our usual Sunday treat. We made a reservation two days in advance for four adults for Sunday lunch, and agreed upon a convenient time. Upon arrival, we ordered two delicious pints of 'Youngs old London' beer and two soft drinks for the ladies before being seated in a cozy snug area with a real wood fire. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a period dining room, with lovely beams and wooden tables. We ordered roast Sunday dinners, with my choice being the beef option. The slices of beef were succulent and the homemade roast potatoes, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, and other vegetables were all delicious. The gravy was exceptional. The staff were attentive and another pint of beer later, we struggled to finish our main course. The portion was generous and every time I thought I was finished, I discovered more tasty items to enjoy. After the satisfying meal, we were presented with the dessert menu (it being Sunday, we felt obliged to indulge). I opted for the bread and butter pudding, which was the best I've ever had. It was light, flavorful, almost soufflé-like in texture, and paired perfectly with custard and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Overall, we left as four happy customers and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the restaurant.
The staff at this restaurant was extremely aggressive and rude. The food, service, and atmosphere all received a rating of 1 out of 5.
