Floreyn - Feedback

Was Alastair B at Floreyn a mag?
We had a magical experience at Floreyn. Each course was outstanding, and the wine pairings worked perfectly. Right from the start, each course had a theme, and all elements on the plate served a purpose. The staff were very welcoming, and late changes to the menu were easily provided. There is a vegetarian menu. View all feedback.

One of THE best restaurants in Amsterdam right now! Located at the far west end of Albert Cuypstraat, away from the hustle and bustle of the market, this place will impress you from the moment you walk through the door. The decor is modern, yet intimate, with multiple live plants located at each table...and a sort of botanist vibe all around the bar. At the suggestion of the very friendly waiter, I tried a spectacular Dutch Riesling that was so incredibly pleasant to drink. Some star moments from the meal include pickled mackerel with horseradish ice cream, the most succulent breast of quail I have ever eaten, and divine duck liver with hints of brown sugar, coffee, and tonka bean. Highly, highly recommend!
My wife and I were on our honeymoon. We have been to multiple Michelin-star restaurants in the US, from one-star to three-star, and Floreyn is the first fine-dining experience in Europe for us. It completely exceeds my expectation. The decor of the restaurant is top-notch, romantic, modern, and intimate. Food-wise, I will just put it this way, for the same quality of food, you will need to pay 3x the price in the US. My favorite is the salted mackerel with sorbet, and my wife's favorite is the duck liver with pear and coffee. I have tasted so many new things new combinations. It's truly an adventure for the mouth. More importantly, I told them my nut allergy, and they really took care of that until the end of the meal. It's already late when we had our desserts and some of their staff already left. Even then, they still remembered my nut allergy and served me the nut-free version. It sounds simple but I have been to a 3-michelin-star restaurant where they served me the nut version and my wife the nut-free version... Overall very impressed, it's a highlight in our honeymoon in Amsterdam.

Must go! Really nice, tasty and well presented food! We went for the 3 courses menu (around 37€ and was perfect. The dessert is really surprising with the cucumber marshmallow. The staff is really nice and welcoming. The chef brought and explained all dishes which is nice. I will definitely come back!
