What David C doesn't like about Sushi Sawa:
Looks pretty good, but not the freshest which is obviously an issue when it comes to sushi. The oysters were the biggest issue. They tasted like the ones you get in a jar at the market seafood section. I wouldn’t have minded if they were not advertised as fresh. Good quality of food and service. Excellent environment for date. Accept call to order takeout. Pay attention to its opening hours. Does not open every Sunday and Wednesday.
This is a small sushi restaurant located in downtown Covina. There were 3 tables, 1 server, and a chef. Service was very fast. We ordered salmon sashimi, pink lady (no carb), beef teriyaki, mix tempura, and yellowtail collar. Al the food was well seasoned and flavorful. None of the cooked dishes were over or under cooked. I gave 4 stars because it was pricy. Portion seemed small, and we have to keep ordering more food. The total was $80 for 2 people. Street parking is available.
Everything was delicious (we ordered a wide variety of appetizers, rolls, sushi) and the service was exceptional
Definitely should try bake salmon roll and roll with eel 5 star for service and food
