We ate in the lounge bar which was warm and welcoming. The homemade soup was delicious and both main meals were plentiful, beautifully presented and really tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Some really original touches in the meal made it an evening to remember. We're looking forward to our next visit.

The restaurant was empty when we visited, and I was put off by the cobweb on our table, which made it seem like the place hadn't been cleaned in a while. The food was decent, but the gammon steak was the strangest I've ever encountered. As for the tea, the serving was so hard that I doubt we would have been able to bite into it without risking our teeth!

The service was excellent; the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, we found the food to be only mediocre, and the portion sizes were on the smaller side. I ordered the lamb and my partner had the steak pie, and we both felt that the dishes were more heavy than meaty. After reading positive reviews before our visit, we had high expectations, but we ended up feeling a bit disappointed.
