What Helga Wenzel doesn't like about The Mole & Chicken:
Service slow and had to chase drinks. Food is OK but have had better meals there before. Seems to be going though a less successful time. Hope it improves as setting and ambience have been very good. View all feedback.
Great food, lovely location and very friendly staff, ready to chat and recommend rings if you're unsure.
Fabulous lunch looking out onto the beautiful countryside! Staff very attentive and friendly, will be back very soon.
Enjoyed a really great 2 course lunch today at Mole Chicken. Being bank holiday Monday, a typical Sunday lunch menu was on offer. My mussels were fantastic, husbands Duck salad was highly recommended-best starter he has had in some time apparently (high praise . Followed by the sirloin roast with four types of veg! (It annoys me so much when veg is limited on a Sunday lunch and the Venison pie- pasty lid, not potato (spot on! . Throughly enjoyed our food and the service was on point, with a great atmosphere. Will recommend and return. 5*.
We booked a table for five for midweek dinner. The pub itself is very warm and welcoming, with well spaced tables throughout. The dinner menu was small but offered a good choice for all. All of the dishes dishes were fresh, imaginative, beautifully cooked and most importantly, absolutely delicious. One of our party needed some small changes to their dish and this was handles without issue. Everybody on our table left feeling very satisfied are looking forward to returning soon.
Ate here before Christmas with friends having not eaten here for a while so decided to take my family back for a meal. Unfortunately this time food was a little disappointing, Limited menu, I had the cod and my husband the vegan beetroot dish. Cod with the fish and chips also very small. We both said some odd flavours going on verging on unpalatable in places. Biscuit that went with the Panna cotta was also odd flavour but the sticky toffee was lovely have to say. Portion sizes very small but prices seem much higher. I know its a hard time for pubs and restaurants so felt at didn't want to complain and also spoil the vibe of our meal as were with family who haven't been out for a while and it was our treat. Service was friendly enough but a large party seemed to naturally hog it despite the rest of the pub seeming half empty and with a small child to entertain we really would have liked it to have been a tad quicker. Don't know whether the chef has changed? My husband who hasn't been for ages said he wouldn't return so I wanted to give feed back as might help to not lose others customers in the future as feel that would be shame.
