What june g doesn't like about The George Inn:
I was trying to arrange a family meal for a special birthday. I have emailed twice and phoned several times since Sunday (now Thursday pm). The emails remain unanswered and calls go through to an answerphone that can’t take messages. No ‘out of office’ on mail at sensible message on answerphone. View all feedback.
With the threat of Tier 3 looming because of you-know-what, my wife and I were keen to get some liquor and fine food in our local... And what an amazing time we had. We brought our dog Lexi, who was kindly accommodated, being provided with fuss and water and we were lucky enough to be seated next to the open fire.My wife had the delicious (and strong! Locally brewed cider and I consumed many delicious pints of the Aylesbury pale ales. For food I had the homemade black pudding scotch egg which was INCREDIBLE and my wife had the whitebait which was also delicious. As it was the burger and steak night we both had the classic burgers, which were cooked and put together with perfection. To finish we had the salted caramel brownie and the sticky toffee pudding and these were rich and delicious.Throughout the evening all the staff were attentive and very friendly without being intrusive. It's really impressive to see how well The George has adapted to the ever changing restrictions and still maintain such good service.
My best friend Terry and I decided on a last meal before lockdown. Warm welcome, lovely setting, great service and amazing food. We had two of the best steaks we have ever eaten, followed by THE best bakewell tart we have ever tasted. Huge thanks to Sam, Rachel and the team for a memorable evening.
Thank you team George, came out for a meal and had a fantastic pint and meal. Can’t wait to come back and try something out on the menu
Silverstone Grand Prix weekend we chose to have Brunch between the qualifying and practice on TVIt was an awesome decision. **** Mary was a proper one with celery and beautifully spiced, not a throw it all in and hope for the best concoction. I love Eggs Benedict and am quite often disappointed but I thought give it a go. Oh boy am I glad I did. Beautifully poached eggs with the required runnyness, wonderful smoked streaky and an inspired hollandaise with Dijon. SuperbThe Cubans my friend had was beautiful marinated pork and pickles. Will be Saturdaying here again
An amazing pub in a lovely village with superb choices of drinks and an amazing restaurant upstairs (although we often eat in the downstairs Always quality food and great service So nice I will visit whenever I can
