It doesn't look much from the outside and the bar is a little drab, but the dining room is much more comfortable and more attractive. Service was excellent and the menu is varied and much more interesting than the rather 'standard' menus available elsewhere in the village. The calf Cordon bleu was excellent and good (for Swiss prices! . Indeed, this was the best price meal we had in our week in Zinal. Most pleasant.

We were brought a bottle of tap water together with our beers that we appreciate on a hot summer evening (we usually need to ask for tap water). The fish and chips were well cooked and beautifully presented crisp batter, fresh salad, thick tartaric acid sauce. Great portions and also good value! We decided to share a dessert raspberry clafoutis that was beautiful. The waiting staff was friendly and efficient. We would recommend a meal here.

The hotel is very simple. And cheap. The room is very clean and simple. I had dinner at the restaurant and it was excellent. Good quality, generous portions and very friendly staff. A very pleasant evening before a hard core hike. I definitely recommend this place if you are for real and not a fluff.

It has different rooms, some wi... read more This hotel is the best choice we could have done for Zinal glacier trekking. We loved the stay so much that we even stayed more! It has different rooms, some with wc&shower, others with just shower and shared toilet, but Elodie/Patrice who impeccably run this hotel and its restaurant, will be more than happy to freely upgrade you when possible. Wooden rooms are simple but warm and spotless, bedsheets and common spaces very clean, wifi/books/shower gel/ breakfast included. The location is great, central, just a few steps from the trekking gate where all paths begin. Local dishes at Trift restaurant are the best way to reward yourself after a long trekking day and everything is delicious, generous portions and great choice. We loved every single detail and the rate is unbelievable for Switzerland- definitely worth it! The hotel is also soon adding private wc&shower in all its rooms. Absolutely recommended!
