Mr. Rick's - Avila Beach

Food was really terrible. All food arrived at our table cold. Much better places in Avila to grab a quick bite of food. Bartenders were super nice and fast, so I'd go back for a drink. Had to clean our own table off because they were short staffed, which I understand. Just a heads up for anyone going.

Avoid if vegetarian. You'll be offered salad with the bacon removed, then chicken, then impossible patty at $3 additional to the already $19 basic burger. Fish taco and kids options were dry and flavorless. View and location is nice and I'm sure the drink selection is great if that's what you're after

Cool place. If I wasn?t 8m pregnant I?d love to be able to review their cocktails. Food was alright. Husband enjoyed his calamari and chips. Said it was mostly due to the dipping sauces. Western Burger needed help. Wasn?t worth the $19 IMO. Under seasoned and chewy bacon. Plate sizes were decent. Lots of fries as a side. Some tables and chairs outside. Inside is high tops and bar stools. Music. Cool vibe. Friendly staff.

The fish and chips had huge chunks of white fish. So delicious. I had a shrimp and chips basket. I was worried it would be salty and overly breaded but they weren't! Perfectly fried and seasoned. Need more shrimps.

What a great find. I have not been in Avilla in years. Always a sleepy little town. I was surprised to find a great restaurant, great weather, and a lot of tourism. The restaurant is very limited with services. You walk up, order, and then try to find a seat. The food was good, I had the Ortega burger. We were here during the week and it was busy, so I am sure weekends will have a long wait.
