What Monroe Herman doesn't like about L'atelier des Thes:
Very friendly service, but just average food. The fare is typical French country cooking: it’s not bad but also not particularly memorable. Cheap, but really only average value given the food. View all feedback.

We popped in for a late lunch upon arrival to Avignon and were not disappointed. This is a very down to earth two person restaurant (one cook and one host/server) serving traditional French cuisine. We ordered the cod fritters which were very good and steak frites. The steak was a little game-y but decent and the frites were nice. A good sign was that most of the 8 tables were occupied by locals. Would go again for a casual meal!
We enjoyed a lovely evening here - each of us choosing from a set menu and delighted with each course. Vincent and Belinda run and tight ship, somehow catering to diners in both the restaurant and garden seating area. Each of our entrees and mains were very tasty, especially the tuna. The deserts of berry tiramisu and chocolate mousse cake were exceptional. Highly recommended.
The restaurant is very good located at a nice place where you can sit outside under trees. The food is very good and the waiter is very friendly and helpful and speaks English which was helpful. I can highly recommend the restaurant, because of the nice place, the good food , the friendly waiter and the good price.
We came here about 4 years ago and I'm pleased to say it is just as good. It was too chilly to eat outside so were seated inside. the place was full and they were having to turn people away. The food is fantastic and so original. After a sumptuous starter which was a mixture of egg and asparagus we had steak or fish courses for the mains. It couldn't be faulted. The restaurant is run almost single handed by the owner chef. She is well supported by just the one waiter who keeps everyone fed and watered. We would have returned but it closes on Sundays.
