Me and my concubine Miranda spent happy hours in the kitchen. I believe their daughter is now in charge? The menu has not changed much, it was honest local food, great value. It is a simple family run hotel-restaurant. Do not expect a proper mis-en-place: this family adheres to a culinary code of a past age, and I was happy to have been their guest. Jambon et melon, the best Civet de Porcelet ever tasted, with Pommes Dauphines in their best guise, Tiramisu as it should be messy), and all home made, and served in its most basic essential fashion.

The food is rustic... read more We have a house in this area and have visited this restaurant several times, especially in the summer where you can sit in the lovely garden. The food is rustic and local. The vegetable are from the garden and couldn't be fresher. The starter is usually pate or salad and bread. The main course is sometimes a choice of coq au vin or veal with vegetables or lentils. Choose cheese for pudding and you get a huge platter to help yourself , not a few measly thin slices you are served in a posh restaurant. Other puddings include chocolate mousse or maybe tarte of the day. Wine is included, as much as you want but it's always red. The price is 13 euros. What a bargain.! It's full of local workmen which is always a sure sign of excellence. Not many English tourist which is another recommendation.its a family run business and now the daughter is the boss and her mother helps out.

The food and wine are very good and the service is personal and friendly. The parking lot is simple and plentiful and the prices are very pleasant. The bad thing: nothing to report. We were twice and look forward to a soon return.
