The restaurant was fantastic. They offer outdoor seating when possible, but even the terrace creates a lovely outdoor atmosphere. What User doesn't like about Summer Salt:
Even though the menu is prix fixe, there are three options available for the main course. While it may seem pricey per person, it is a BYOB establishment, and the meal includes everything from a fresh vegetable course with dips to appetizers, mains, and dessert. You definitely won't be disappointed. We're looking forward to returning next season! View all feedback.

Dining under the moonlit sky, with the feel of ocean air, was incredibly romantic. The food was exceptionally fresh, and each bite was more delightful than the last. My favorite dish was the delicious appetizer featuring juicy red tomatoes paired with crispy prosciutto, and the cacio e pepe was outstanding. Another creative and tasty dish was the peach appetizer, which included fresh peaches, corn, and mozzarella. For the evening meal, we enjoyed zeppole, a Jersey-style dish, accompanied by fresh sauces and ice. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience.
The meal began well, but quickly went down hills. we were served the first two courses in a timely way, but after that we were probably waiting for for forty minutes for our participants. our waiter gave it to the kitchen and offered no excuses. then we waited 30 minutes for our dessert. I even had to ask when dessert is served. at no point did our waiter or the manager apologize for the terrible service. the dinner for two lasted two hours. people who came after us went well before we were done and honestly, eating was nothing to rave. we will not return!
We had a great time at Summer Salt. The food was great. Sitting outside with an ocean breeze was also phenomenal.
After reading the many rave reviews my expectations were much higher than Summer Salt delivered. The garden board did not have much taste. The veggies were just raw veggies, nothing impressive! The tomato salad was good, The clams were flavorless and sandy. The sauce looked and tasted like dish water! Very surprising since many gave the clams rave reviews. The cucumber crostini along with the peach and burrata were good but for the price of $85 I would expect more substantial choices. The entrees, I had the crab cacio e Pepe and the pork chop very tasty but still not and $85 meal. I wasn’t impressed with the service either, They would collect our old plates as they delivered our next course. I expected a more organized flow. All in all it was not worth the money and I’m not sure what all the hype is about the food, it was bland and basic! Many other restaurants in Avalon and surrounding areas that are amazing!
