the owner and the personal are friendly and very attentive. I regularly call here in a weekly commute for both to eat. they are happy that I can use a stainless steel tiffin instead of using plastic containers. it is easy to park there and is comfortable. eating is always excellent. I ask for a medium spiciness and it is never too hot and always delicious. View all feedback.
What Chris Morgan doesn't like about Raj on Taj Avalon:
we were disappointed with the food. its just average not great. not at all good value for the money we are paying. The place welcome you with an ever dripping pipe. entrance itself was sad. View all feedback.
The food here is amazing! Service is great too, always with a smile. Restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and order the vegetable kootu :)
We have dined at the place a couple of times and the food is good! Don't even attempt take away, I ordered a butter chicken and some starters on a Monday night and it took over 1.5 hrs to get here. I called several times and the lady just kept saying, " he's just left he's just left" . The food ain't that good for this wait. If I have ordered Thai it would have been with me in 20 mins. This place just isn't a take away place which is fine but VERY annoying when your just waiting waiting waiting. I doubt we will go again after this.
This Indian restaurant at Careel Bay, Avalon has changed its name to URBAN CURRY.The new owners are very attentive and anxious to please. We were there on a Saturday night and were the only four in the restaurant. There was a brisk take a way trade, but it seems a shame that this place is not better supported. The food was very good for a small suburban restaurant and it's a BYO with moderate corkage. All we could eat for $50 a couple (not including tip)We did book but there is no need at the moment.A good place to take the kids and they will do the curry to your taste.
We were disappointed with the food. its just average- not great. not at all good value for the money we are paying. The place welcome you with an ever dripping pipe. entrance itself was sad.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner here on 3 January. My husband and I were eating out with our 8 year old son. This was his first "Restaurant" butter chicken and he loved. They had a great kids menu with 4 or 5 mild curries on the list. The staff were friendly, service was prompt and meals were well priced. We would return here with all 3 kids and have previously enjoyed dining here as a couple.
