Description

Nestled on the corner of High Street and Orrong Road, this charming pub offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere paired with classic pub fare. Patrons appreciate the friendly service and vibrant vibe, often highlighted by lively meat raffles. While most dishes impress, such as the perfectly cooked porterhouse steak and tender lamb cutlets, some guests have experienced inconsistency in food quality, particularly with curry dishes and steak specials. Overall, the combination of refined decor, hearty meals, and a sense of community makes this establishment a standout choice for locals seeking a memorable dining experience. A must-visit for pub enthusiasts!.

This is a fantastic local pub! The Thursday night meat raffle is a popular attraction. Overall, I rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at 5 stars!

We get together here every three months with friends. Yesterday, we treated ourselves to a $50 Scotch fillet, and I have to say, as a sous vide enthusiast who loves cooking that way at home, the chef truly nailed my rare fillet. Another person at our table had a medium rare, and it was equally impressive. The char grill added a wonderful touch that I can't replicate at home—it was simply fantastic! The fries were a bit lukewarm (but honestly, who cares?) because the steak was the star of the meal. Others at the table ordered steak and chips and the Wednesday special, chicken parmigiana, and they all enjoyed their dishes as well. The atmosphere is just perfect for relaxing and enjoying time with friends over a delicious meal. The staff who make everything happen are also wonderful. That’s why we’ll be returning in three months, and likely again after that. Did I mention how great the Scotch was? I might just sneak in for another visit to make sure it wasn't a one-time experience!

I paid $7.50 for a can of Guinness, enjoyed by an open fire and served by down-to-earth bartenders—no pretentiousness here! I give it a 5-star rating and will definitely come back. I lived just across the street for two years and never visited, and I really regret that now!

Food was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and accommodating. My salt and pepper calamari were tender and tasty, and the beer selections are fantastic.
