**A Dive into Vic's BBQ: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** Vic’s BBQ, a family-run gem, offers a warm, inviting atmosphere filled with Texan charm. While some patrons rave about the tender brisket and flavorful sides, others express disappointment regarding portion sizes and food quality. Highlights include friendly service and a distinctive decor, complete with Southwestern memorabilia. Despite occasional hiccups with price and food consistency, many diners appreciate the affordable meals and wholesome vibe. With a selection of classic barbecue dishes and a cozy environment, Vic’s BBQ remains a beloved spot for those who enjoy down-home cooking, making it worthwhile for a visit—if you know what to expect.
As for the vegetables, the corn and green beans were rather basic, reminiscent of cafeteria food; they seemed to be simply boiled with minimal seasoning—nothing special. When we visited, there was some sort of local charity meeting happening, making the restaurant feel quite crowded, but only about four tables were occupied by diners while around twenty people were attending the meeting. The dining area has a distinctly Texan vibe, decorated with plenty of cowboy and Southwestern elements. There’s even a shrine-like display of John Wayne photos, complete with hot sauce hangers and other memorabilia. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Pricing was reasonable—my meal, along with my wife’s burger and three drinks, totaled under $45. I would definitely return if I’m in the area again.
Amazing food! Hands down great ? meat ? . Old school look. But worth every penny!!!
Mediocre food with poor customer service. Employees are curt with customers and seem unhappy. Food was edible but it was the worst brisket I've had in Austin so far. Brisket had very little flavor and an odd texture. Chicken servings were tiny and mostly bone. The pork ribs were the best things we ordered but even they were only average and a Texas bbq place that can't do beef right isn't worth a second visit.
This place is a fantastic family-run restaurant, and I'm really glad they're still in business. I was a bit surprised by the prices, especially $3.25 for a large sweet tea, which feels a bit steep. Still, I'd much rather dine here than at any other BBQ joint in Austin!
