The main complaints I came across included noise levels (which were accurate but didn’t bother us), food being served cold (not our experience at all; the plates were actually quite hot, which we appreciated), and pricing concerns. We had researched the restaurant beforehand, so we were aware that it would be on the pricier side. I think some people in Austin can be overly critical and entitled. There’s so much information available online that you can easily learn about a place before you go. It seems unfair to complain about costs that you didn’t investigate first. We felt that the food, wine pairings, and overall experience matched the quality of service we received. Additionally, keep in mind that the restaurant is located in a busy, touristy downtown area, which contributes to the pricing. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience at Vespaio and would love to return in the future if our budget allows. My advice to anyone considering a visit is to keep an open mind, avoid biases, and just give it a try.
