Nestled in a charming locale, the restaurant offers a delightful atmosphere perfect for brunch or special events. Guests praise the exceptional ambiance and attentive service, highlighting the quality of the food, despite some feeling it leans toward pricey. While many enjoyed signature dishes like the BLT and burrata, others encountered service delays and inconsistencies, with concerns raised about drink availability and menu options. The venue is ideal for intimate gatherings and celebrations, but some patrons noted a few logistical issues, such as limited parking and difficulty accessing the location. I recently visited this charming restaurant located in the heart of Westlake Hills, just outside of Austin. The dining room is cozy and inviting. For brunch, I ordered the avocado toast and found it to be delicious.
A few minutes later, the waitress returned to ask for the chef. The birthday girl ordered the pork chops, which were supposed to come with heirloom tomatoes and spinach according to the menu. However, when the food was brought to the table, the heirloom tomatoes were covered in pesto, which was not mentioned on the menu. We had noted on our OpenTable profile that there was a nut allergy in our group, but when we questioned the waitress about the pesto containing nuts, she disagreed. My husband had to follow her to the kitchen to confirm that indeed there were nuts in the pesto. The kitchen staff reluctantly remade the dish, but the birthday girl had to wait while the rest of us finished our meals. When the new plate arrived, it was free of pesto but overly salted and the pork was undercooked. It seemed like the chef had rushed the cooking process and compensated for the lack of pesto flavor by adding excessive salt. The kitchen staff appeared visibly unhappy about remaking the dish, and we could see their reaction through a small curtain that partially obscured the view into the kitchen from our seats. The restaurant did not charge us for the birthday girl's meal and offered us free dessert, although we felt this was the least they could do on her special day.
The Good AND the Bad:The Good:8 little cottages on a countryside property with good furnishing inside and plenty of places to sit under the trees. Good furnishings, comfy beds, a well appointed bathroom. Strangely, though, some rooms have better furnishings or better outdoor areas than others. There is a restaurant on the same site and we had an excellent breakfast there. The Bad:The place closes down on Monday and Tuesday. One is meant to get housekeeping only after 3 nights our fourth day was on a Monday so it took special pleading with the owner to get clean towels, etc.The restaurant does not open till 9 even on the days it is open, so it is not much use for those who want an everyday breakfast. Finally, there is nothing in walking distance, but plenty in driving distance, so don 't book there unless you have a car.Summary:$800 a night for a 2 bedroom AirBnB (but touted as an Inn) without a kitchen.
This charming restaurant offers delicious food and drinks and has the added bonus of outdoor seating. Despite its small size, it is vegan-friendly.
This was such a charming place and such a nice getaway! Welcoming and helpful staff, the cottage was clean and inviting! We arrived to a charcuterie board with a picnic basket. Over our stay we had fantastic drinks by the pool the cafe has amazing food and a wonderful ambiance. Seriously, you shouldn’t skip out on the cafe it’s top notch!!
