You can have a good menu. You can have a good environment. But unless you have good leadership, you can’t have a great restaurant. Call out to Kris who leads a great team which makes everyone feel welcome in the restaurant and in Austin at large. The best.Food: 5/5 View all feedback.
What Lisa Bee doesn't like about The League Kitchen Tavern:
Service was a little slow. Food was spotty and not all that tasty. We also got our appetizers at the same time as our dinner which took forever to come. And the waitress got my side dish wrong. Some of the food was cold when served. They took it back and replaced it but never did they offer to comp anything. I think with the apps coming with dinner and the slow side dish it would have been nice to offer. Not sure we w... View all feedback.
Had the fish and chips, fantastic food but service was a tad slow. Overall very good experience would highly recommend to anyone in the area.Food: 5/5
Biscuits with silky smooth jalapeño gravy is my go to. If you’re hungry, order the full breakfast. You will be full… gluten free option’s available for folks with Celiac (obviously not me since I head straight for the biscuits). Different feedback from staff on the tortilla strips in the soup being gluten free, so be careful.Great service. Sometimes a little slow, but still spot on. Hostesses generally do not smile, are not engaging, and seem to be a bit standoffish. You may feel like a cow on a cattle drive being prodded to your table.
Food was good. The service was . . . off. When I walked up with my kids (my husband was parking the car), a women (possibly a manager) opened the door and held it for us. But when I got closer and greeted/thanked her, she didn't say anything and kind of stared right through me. Our server tried to take my husband's order first. She also asked us about dessert while I was still eating (my husband had finished his meal) and then brought the check while I was still eating. Honestly, my husband is white and I'm a person of color, and it felt to both of us like this was the reason in treatment disparity between myself and my husband. I submitted these same comments through the reservation app, which sends them privately to the restaurant, and no one has reached out regarding our experience.
What a great impromptu date night. Marshall was the greatest tastebud tour guide we could have asked for! His partner Ethan was very nice and helpful as well. We had such a great time we accidentally overstayed the closing time and everyone was so kind and hospitable. We were made a drink nit on the menu that was SO incredible and refreshing. Truffle deviled eggs were decant. Coconut shrimp was so fresh and perfectly cooked. Meatloaf bites are always our favorite.
This place was amazing! Frank, our server was super cool and sweet. The food was great and atmosphere was vibe. Thanks y'all, will definitely stop by again on our next travels!Food: 5/5
