Thai Kun - Austin
Thai Kun
Description
Nestled in a bustling district, this Thai restaurant boasts a vibrant atmosphere and an eclectic menu. While standout dishes like the Kra Pow and Crispy Coco delight with bold flavors and engaging textures, some customers found inconsistencies with dishes such as the green curry and rib eye steak, which left more to be desired. Service can be hit-or-miss, with enthusiastic staff sometimes contrasted by overwhelmed team members. Vegetarian and vegan options are appreciated, appealing to diverse palates. Despite mixed experiences, the restaurant remains a tempting destination for those seeking unique Thai cuisine.

We had seasonal mussels, green curry seen here, and the coconut crisp. So delicious. The staff were all so friendly and attentive, giving great suggestions, despite how busy it was. Vegetarian and vegan friendly options on the menu.
Thai Kun has been on my list for a long time, and I?m so glad I finally went! I?ve already made it a goal to go back and eventually try everything on the menu, it?s THAT good! The atmosphere is fun, upbeat and bright; the staff were awesome andsuper friendly! Shout out to our waitress Kelsey, who definitely made the experience better. The chef and the staff make itknown that making alterations to the menu isn?t really a thing, which I really admire; you get to experience everything asintended(deliciously spicy). I?m obsessed with Thai tea, so naturally, I?m giving their Adult Thai tea a 10/10. Theirhouse-made piña colada cocktail is now one of my favorites drinks?made PERFECTLY! We started out with some delicious wontonswith a spicy sauce that will test your love for spicy food. The star of the night though?the shrimp clay pot! That dish issomething you daydream about days after eating it. I?m more than sure that you cannot go wrong when you come to Thai Kun!
We had late lunch here and it was good! Strong flavors, fresh ingredients. when they say spicy it?s spicy.
Get your flavor and spice! The kra pow was spot on really good and yes, spicy. The pad thai was a bit sweet for us, but still full of flavor. Nice diner kind of atmosphere with great mural work.
I hate going to the Domain; it 's always crowded and stressful. However the dish I had here the Crispy Coco was so good it 's tempting to return soon. It 's described on the menu as crispy rice, coconut cream, serrano, cilantro, cucumber, red onion, silken tofu, taro crisps. It 's really the perfect dish for a hot summer day, because it 's so light, and the combination offlavors and textures is delightful.
