The menu is straightforward, featu... read more I visited Slake for the first time this morning and was pleasantly surprised to discover a charming and cozy breakfast diner. The menu is straightforward, featuring classic breakfast options like platters, sandwiches, and tacos. While it's not fancy or gourmet, everything is well-prepared and satisfying. I ordered the homestyle plate that included eggs, sausage, toast, and hash browns. It was a simple meal, but just what I needed to kickstart my day. The staff were delightful, and the tables were well spaced for COVID safety. I will definitely return the next time I'm downtown for a business meeting.

I chose t... read more The restaurant has a lovely exterior and is situated in a great spot in downtown. However, I was disappointed with the flavor of the brunch I ordered. I chose the classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, biscuits, and potatoes, along with a side of mac and cheese. Unfortunately, everything was tasteless, lacking any seasoning that would allow me to truly enjoy it. It might have just been an off day, but overall, it wasn't the most enjoyable dining experience.
