Sip Pho - Austin
Sip Pho
Description
Sip Pho serves authentic Vietnamese dishes in a sleek, cozy space near UT Austin, with generous portions of pho, banh mi and grilled plates, standout boba and friendly, usually quick service. The modern, clean interior and student discount make it a popular, casual spot for locals and visitors. A few consistency issues—occasional tough short ribs, diluted milk tea and uneven service—keep it from perfection but the flavors and atmosphere keep customers coming back.

Sip Pho offers great Vietnamese food at a reasonable price with sleek, modern decor. This restaurant is the epitome of sweet and simple. Plus, if you’re a UT student and you show your ID you get 10% off.
I love Sip Pho! The ambiance is wonderful and the staff are always really nice. Personally, I am not the biggest enjoyer of their pho, and I opt for any of the options on the grill menu instead. The boba, though, is actually my favorite on UT campus. Go figure.
Worth-it tier: A. Authentic food, nice atmosphere. Very popular, so be prepared to wait for 20min. Would come again.Vegetarian options: Decent options
We ordered a banh mi and a short rib pho. The banh mi was quite tasty. The pho had good flavor, but the short ribs could have been much more tender. They were difficult to cut and chew, with some tough tendon pieces. The Thai iced tea with oat milk was excellent.
Their pho is tasty but could use a bit more flavor—there’s too much broth, and the portions are already quite large. Speaking of drinks, the milk tea is too small and diluted, with half the cup filled with ice, making it not worth the price. The atmosphere is pleasant and clean. Overall, the prices are a bit high for what you receive. If they concentrate the soup and tea more and lower the prices slightly, they’d have a winner.
