Contribute FeedbackOverall, the reviews for the restaurant 616 paint a mixed picture. Many diners were disappointed with the decline in food quality and service standards since the departure of the longtime chef. Complaints ranged from overly seasoned dishes to cold coffee and unaccommodating staff. However, there were also positive comments about the food, especially the cocktails, with some diners praising the fun atmosphere and friendly bartenders. Despite the mixed reviews, 616 remains a popular spot in Austin for those looking for a night out with good drinks and decent food.
Three orders. lachs came out of the lukewarm, while others evaporated.
Our meal was good, nothing special, and it was so loud that it was almost impossible to conduct a conversation. we will not go back, which is disappointing because we loved 616.
Stellar. all stunning. service, good and atmosphere were all amazing. we had the fried oysters, fried frog legs, divorced juniper and enchiladas. killer in any case. meagan was a fantastic blessing. the urinal was also cool.
Adam the manager took great care of us. Love the food and atmosphere!
Since the chef of 20+ years left. The dining experience has not been to the standards of 616. They removed the quesadillas off the dinner menu, the pork chop was overly seasoned and spiced. Last evening, the chicken fried steak was dark , overcooked and the grilled vegetables were thrown on the plate. I believe the dark chicken fried steak was cooked earlier, and warmed then the gravy was dumped on the dark, cool, tough chicken fried steak. Not a good dining experience. It WAS one of our go to restaurants.
