Old Thousand - Austin
Old Thousand
Description
Old Thousand in Austin, Texas offers a delicious variety of vegan-friendly options, such as the General Tso Tofu which I personally enjoyed. While it may be on the pricier side (around $30 per person), it's a great choice for those seeking alternatives to traditional Chinese cuisine.

Even though the menu at this Chinese restaurant was smaller than average, I found that there were a good variety of vegan options available. It really hit the spot for me.
I ordered the General Tso Tofu and found it to be excellent. Although it is a bit pricey (around $30 per person), it is a good option if you want something other than a food truck.
I ordered the vegan fried rice and my partner had the eggplant thing and wow. My rice had a flavor profile that I couldn’t believe but the eggplant dish was phenomenal. It will drive me crazy all day and night that I cannot eat it for every meal.
We visited during a Wednesday dinner service and were impressed by the atmosphere, music, and decor that all worked well together. It was a lively experience. The dishes we tried, including the delicious brisket fried rice and spicy noodles, were incredibly flavorful and expertly prepared by a skilled wok chef. We are looking forward to returning for their Sunday Dim Sum Brunch.
