What Pratik J dislikes about Ng Cafe:
Didn’t stand up to the hype of some other reviews which I read for this place.Family owned restaurant (assuming based on operations I saw) with decent prices.Food didn’t seem specific to call it Vietnamese. Has green curry fried rice to lemon cookies as desserts kind of variety.Located in strip mall so parking is available.Atmosphere was mellow.Service was fast.Staff was helpful and polite.Egg drop/ hot n sour soup c... Absolutely delicious! I love the pad Thai and pineapple fried rice!
Loved this place! NG House Noodles, Drunken Noodles, Spring rolls, shredded pork Banh Mi, lemon and shortbread cookies were all excellent! Rib-eye banh mi was great 9.5/10
This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I completely understand why it has such high ratings. Wow! We started with Crab Rangoon and Golden Tofu for appetizers, both of which were simple but absolutely delicious. For our main courses, we tried the NG House Noodles with chicken and the Evil Jungle Curry, both bursting with amazing flavors. I was truly impressed by the variety of dishes and desserts on the menu. And the price was fantastic: for just $50.00, we enjoyed 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes, 2 soups, a mango cheesecake, and Korean sweet buttercream bread. I highly recommend this place. I can't express enough how much I appreciate the owners who prepare everything fresh. Absolutely amazing!
The first time I tried the grilled pork banh mi, it was incredible—easily the best I had enjoyed in years, especially since my favorite banh mi spots had either closed down or their quality had declined. However, when I returned this past Sunday, I was disappointed to find that the banh mi was just okay. The mayo was barely noticeable, and there was way too much butter, which was literally dripping out of the sandwich. I believe mayo pairs perfectly with the vegetables, and after having such a fantastic experience the first time, I felt let down. Seeing the size of the sandwich made me decide to add a slice of mango cheesecake, thinking I would need more to satisfy my hunger—and honestly, I couldn't resist. The cheesecake was delicious, but $5 for a small slice seems a bit pricey. I might give the banh mi another chance in the future, hoping that my last experience was just an anomaly.
Today, I found myself yearning for mango sticky rice, which led me to discover Ng Cafe. It's conveniently located near my workplace, but I had never stopped by before. Once I found out that they make their own bread and tofu, I couldn't resist trying a tofu banh mi. I was blown away by how delicious my meal was. The tofu was incredibly fresh, lightly fried, and full of black pepper—just the way I like it. The bread had a fantastic crust and a nice chewy texture. And the mango sticky rice? It was simply perfect: rich, slightly savory, and just the right amount of sweetness, accompanied by a generous slice of ripe mango. I will definitely be returning to sample more of their offerings! The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely as well, so next time, I think I’ll dine in instead of taking my meal to go.
