Feedback
This seafood restaurant in Austin garners mixed reviews, praised for its fresh oysters and signature dishes like red snapper and gumbo, while some dishes are considered overpriced and underwhelming. Despite excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere, customers express frustration over service lapses and high prices. The venue is recommended for raw bar items and happy hour, but some find the overall experience inconsistent. Delicious desserts, like key lime pie, and friendly staff contribute to its charm, making it a must-try for seafood lovers who appreciate quality ingredients and an inviting ambiance.
We had a really bad time at Mongers and we're not planning to go back. There is a waitress, She was all snooty, explaining the menu like she was looking down on us. Totally felt judged. And get this, she didn't write down our order, then forgot one of our dishes. When we pointed it out, she blamed us instead of admitting she didn't jot it down. Oh, and when we asked for the check, she actually shushed us. Can you believe that? So we only tipped 10% because of the lousy service, but these guys went ahead and took 20% for the tip without any permission
If you love oysters and seafood, check this place out. The drinks were great as well.
Quality of food was horrible last night compared to previous times I was there. Seemed like they were short staffed, had to send back the beet salad, oysters were shucked incorrectly, the scallop dish was horrendous. They’ll never see me again
My husband and I are big fans of this restaurant. The seafood is exceptional, and they serve the best oysters and raw bar selections we've ever had. The gourmet fish tacos and their ever-changing specials, with their unique flavors, are definitely worth a try. We especially enjoyed our recent visit with Chris, who brought a great attitude and a stylish look that perfectly matched the restaurant's vibe. He joked that his impressive style wasn't part of a uniform—he simply has that natural flair!
This was our first visit to the restaurant, and we are so pleased we decided to check it out after reading the great reviews. The happy hour offers a wonderful opportunity to sample a variety of their dishes, making it perfect for first-timers. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and professional. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. We had a fantastic experience and will definitely come back to try their regular menu as well.
