We had Llama's Peruvian Food truck cater our wedding. My wife is Peruvian, I am not. She said that this is the best she's had in Austin, and we tried them all. If you're in search of an incredible and one-of-a-kind lunch or dinner experience, make sure to visit Llama's. You won't regret it. The Creole Peruvian cuisine is absolutely delicious, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable considering the high quality of the food and preparation.
As a first-time visitor to Austin, I was exploring 6th Street late at night and craving some snacks. Being vegan, I had to skip the well-known pizza spots, but then I discovered Llamas! Wow, it was incredible! The fried plantains were absolutely delicious! I’m definitely planning to stop by at least two more times before I leave.
We hired Llama's Peruvian Food Truck to cater our wedding, and it was an excellent choice. My wife, who is Peruvian, claimed it's the best Peruvian food she's had in Austin, and we've sampled many places. They served the food from the truck but also cooked it in a sizzling open-fire wok off to the side, which was a fun sight to see. The team put in a lot of effort that night and were incredibly friendly to our guests. The food was delicious and quickly devoured, with both meat and vegetarian options available. They even let us do a taste test before the big day and collaborated with us on the number of dishes, portions, and serving sizes. Everything went off without a hitch, and we had no leftovers!
Llama's offers flavors your tastebuds will know but are not typically hit with. Every dish is packed with flavor and they have several vegetarian/vegan options. The thing I love about this truck is its consistency I've eaten here many times, switch choices regularly and always have a great experience. It's a bit pricey at ~10/meal but the flavor, portion size and quality validate it. One note nearby Chicago House has recently started serving food and Llama's can no longer deliver there so you have to eat on location or while walking. They have seating for ~10 by the truck.
Very tasty Peruvian food, one of the better Peruvian places I've been. The presence of flavor in the food here is definitely a thing, and makes the dishes taste a lot more unique than at other places. The price is a tad bit high for the amount of food served, but I enjoyed every bite of my meal and would definitely return.
