Feedback
Hopfields, a charming French bistro in Austin, offers a mixed dining experience that captivates some while discouraging others. Diners rave about its cozy ambiance, craft cocktails, and standout dishes like mussels, escargot dumplings, and a unique burger. The vintage decor and spacious layout enhance its appeal, making it a popular date night spot. However, inconsistency plagues the menu; patrons report undercooked meals, flavorless dishes, and service hiccups, tarnishing an otherwise inviting experience. While some appreciate the late dining hours and diverse offerings, others find the prices steep for the quality. Overall, Hopfields presents a blend of potential and pitfalls.
The atmosphere is great and my service has always been amazing. Parking can be tricky.
When I see “French cuisine “ I expect French but here the food is more like a fusion, please don’t get me wrong the food was tasty but not at all original, very pricey for not being authentic French cuisine. The place was very nice once you are taken to a table, the area for dining is cozy! So a plus for ambience. I give a 4 star for service because they were rushing us out. In France no one rushes you out…so I missed that “no rush feeling ” you get dining in France.
I had the spinach eggs Benedict and it was very tasty. Great service also.
I stopped by before going to the airport. This place has been on my list of places to try and I wish I skipped it. I ordered the pascal burger with a side salad, and my boyfriend ordered the French Italian sandwich with fries. Pascal burger Verymediocre. I had asked for medium rare and got a very well done burger. The flavor was okay, but the burger was very dry. FrenchItalian The sandwich itself was extremely dry with maybe 2 slices of thin deli meat on it. The fries were fantastic and theonly redeeming quality. I wouldn't bother coming here, especially with the high prices. We also just got back from France andthis food was definitely not authentic.
I felt like it might have been a bit of a silly order to get a burger at a fancy French restaurant, but I don’t at all regret my decision. The burger was unique and delicious, and it even came with a very generous portion of fries. We also ordered someappetizers, and desserts. All of them were delicious. Highly recommend ending the meal with a crème brûlée.
