"I recently enjoyed a simple dinner at this restaurant. The cooking salad was excellent and the smaller portion lasts me for two days. I had the best pizza I've tasted on the East Coast, specifically in Austin (and comparable to what I’ve had in NY or NJ), featuring a thin crust that was just perfect. I also tried their meatball sub, and I really loved the bread it came on.".
What Leo Nydus doesn't like about Home Slice Pizza:
Heavily overrated and overpriced pizza. I enjoyed the slices at the time, but looking back the flavor is probably one of the worst I've had at any non-chain Austin pizza place. And it's not so much that it's bad, but that it just can't compete and demands more money at the same time. Also doesn't reheat that well, even when using the covered pan with water method. Some of the best if not the best in austin. Staff and environment is super inviting
Pizza's are great! Italian sub is just ok. It's really big and is nothing special. It's just a bunch of meat on a big bun. Stick with the .
Home Slice Pizza was a fantastic experience! We visited on a Saturday evening and were told there would be a 30-minute wait, but that was no problem. We enjoyed a lovely stroll around the neighborhood while we waited. Once we were seated, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely scrumptious! For my birthday dinner, I indulged in a calzone and garlic knots, both of which were incredibly satisfying and hit the spot perfectly. I can't wait to go back!
Best NY slices in town. Great service. Wonderful subs
I'm in town visiting Austin and this was one of the spots I wanted to try. Definitely did not disappoint. Easy parking nearby, staff was amazingly friendly, I ordered to go. I had a slice of pepperoni and a root beer while I waited which was excellent and tasted very authentically New York. To go I got a large Italian sandwich, I am an Italian sandwich aficionado and I really loved it. It was a little weird having mayonnaise on it and it lacked peppers, but that's not a criticism just an observation. Really just an excellent sandwich. I also got a meat calzone which was really big, and excellently put together with the perfect balance of ingredients. A nice big cup of sauce came with it that was super delicious and not watery at all, great consistency. Everything was well packaged, the price was very reasonable for what I got, it was a lot of food and it was delicious and I can't wait to return next time I am back in Austin.
