The... read more We started our meal with fried pickles and a cup of gumbo. The fried pickles were enjoyable—nothing out of the ordinary, but who doesn't love fried pickles? The gumbo was quite good, although it leaned a bit on the watery side; still, it was some of the best I've had in Austin. For my main course, I chose a shrimp po'boy. While the basic ingredients were good, the shrimp had a rather strong fishy flavor, which was a letdown. Overall, it was decent, but not something I would rave about. In conclusion, it’s a solid little restaurant. I’d give it a rating of 3.5 out of 5.

The dishes are expertly crafted, and the staff is exceptionally welcoming. The Po' Boy is hearty and packed with succulent shrimp. Both the gumbo and étouffée are flavorful and have a pleasing consistency—far from the thick, pasty texture I've found at other places. I’m eager to come back and try more items from the menu!

The reason I’m giving the food four stars instead of five is that everyone I speak to seems to rave about it, and it feels slightly overrated. It’s like a film that gets a lot of hype; you go in expecting something revolutionary, but it turns out to be just good—nothing life-altering. That’s how I feel about the food here. It’s definitely delicious, just not as exceptional as I anticipated. However, the service is outstanding. I highly recommend it!

During our latest visit, the fried pickles stood out—they were thin, crispy, chip-style, and absolutely delicious. The cocktail sauce is a personal favorite of mine; I make sure to order it every time I come. I highly recommend this spot for the tasty food, friendly and attentive staff, and the weekend music.
