Menu

The menu of Daon from Austin comprises about 24 different menus and drinks. On average you pay about $13.3 for a dish / drink.

This modest eatery inside H-Mart offers a mixed experience with Korean-Chinese dishes. The jajangmyeon stands out for its chewy noodles and savory sauce, capturing authentic flavors, though portion sizes tend to be small. The jjampong is decent but unremarkable, while some items like General Tso’s chicken and tangsuyuk disappoint due to soggy texture and lackluster sauces. Fried rice and omurice fall short on flavor and quality, though the friendly service and quick preparation create a welcoming atmosphere. Korean specialties may hold more promise, making this spot worth a cautious try for adventurous diners.

What Alex Nguyen dislikes about Daon:
2 stars because I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. It seems like their Korean food must be better but I've yet to try. If you come here for Chinese food turn around and drive the extra couple of miles for panda Express because even if its a chain it's hell of a lot better than this. The general tso's chicken was probably made up of 75% batter and it wasn't even fried freshly. On top of being soggy slop the sauce is definitely premade and the chef needs to take another hit at that recipe cause it ain't it fam. The fried rice has very faint flavor for someone expecting a dollar surcharge if you prefer that over white. The white rice is also over cooked. But the staff however is extremely friendly and perhaps the Korean food is what people come for.

I ordered the jjajangmyeon and the Samseon jjambong, and they were both fantastic! It's wonderful to enjoy authentic Korean-style Chinese food.

The fried rice and omelette rice are a total disappointment. They are flavorless and bland, just plain rice with no interesting ingredients.

Not bad for Round Rock. Got the jjajangmyeon and it was delicious. Hand made noodles and the sauce was savory. The only gripe is portion size. It's not that big and normally with Chinese-Korean style food you're suppose to receive family style portions. In any case, the food came out quick and it was nice eating inside H-Mart. I would eat here again.

I ate here yesterday and was so disappointed. Jajang noodle was sweet, instead of savory. I thought it tasted OK but not good. Then, there was the shrimp fried rice. It was literally just rice sauted with a few tiny shrimps thrown in. No veggies, not even green onion. And they charge $12. Too expensive for what I got.Korean style Chinese food is my fav! I grew up eating it. I wish Daon was better.
