This place rocks! We come to Austin from Chicago once a year and stop here at least once each time. Love this place. Austin is full of Mexican food places, but this one is the best. Fast, delicious, and great service. View all feedback.
What Kitty Ratke doesn't like about Curra's Grill:
fun atmosphere, but disappointed by my menu choice. sadly, their “famous” avocado margarita did not measure, but probably because I had the pleasure of tasting the best avocado margarita in avo in nashville. on the other side, my non-Veg date thought his meal was great. View all feedback.
The bean tamales ordered as it was so strongly recommended. when I received them, I was surprised, but how generous they were. there were 4 fools and they were huge. it also came with Mexican rice and a red sauce on the side. the rice was soou good, it was my favorite part of the meal. the tamale were good, but not great. the masa was cooked well and damp, and the bores were lubricated and spicy. for my personal preference, I would have wished another texture on the inside of the tamale, it was a little too spicy and felt like there was another texture missing. My omni-man was with me and he liked to eat. there were several other options on the menu, but I did not try it. I would have liked to taste her vegan chorizo too. all good when they're in town.

Love Curra’s I would eat there more often if it were a bit closer. I love her beans tamale
Curra’s grill is one of the best Mexican restaurants where I have ever eaten. it has interesting medium Mexican cuisine, a fun colorful atmosphere, great personal and fabulous eating. everything we ate was delicious, interesting and beautifully prepared! the menu is very vegan friendly with three of four of their beans made without animal addition. the personal was happy to make accommodation for my needs and I had a lot of options, it was really hard to decide what to order! curra’s grill had even vegan chorizo! but seriously, they command the fool. I have never, ever in my thirty years of eating tamales had so delicious fools. If I could eat them every week, I would. They wanted to go all the way out of the way! Beyond that, their salsa was fabulous and they serve red mais tortillas with their dresses that were truly unique and delicious! (I ate the tortillas level on my way back to dallas and still enjoyed every bite the restaurant also has interesting, unique cocktails and would be a fun place to relax in the evening with a group of friends, bowls of guacamole and chips and good entertainment. if they are in austin and how to eat mx, check out this place!
Curras has been a favorite restaurant of mine for years. However, unfortunately over the past year, the owner’s focus seems to be shifting more towards profit than quality. They first decreased portion sizes of the side dishes, then they changed the enchilada plate to include only one side when previously it came with both rice and beans. Finally, the quality of the food has gone downhill and many items are overpriced. I ordered dinner to-go two weeks ago and both the refried black and refried pinto beans tasted horrible. Sadly, Curras will no longer be a frequent destination for me. Only pros were the service I received was great.
